The OLS Story On-Line Strategies (OLS) was founded in 1996 by Terry Richards to provide better production support for on-line transaction processing (OLTP) customers. OLS has always held a customer-centric focus. In the late 1990s OLS provided its customers with strategic payment planning as well as comprehensive maintenance services. Early in the new millennia, OLS extended its capabilities to include data mining and a variety of complementary products for legacy systems. OLS.Switch was created in 2004 and its first customer was a Fortune 500 company. So successful was OLS.Switch that it became the platform from which all other OLS services operated.demanding users, but is equally appropriate for traditional users needing fewer capabilities to serve their customers. It is also ideal for organizations desiring or required to replace or augment an existing legacy system.
The overriding value of the OLS transaction engine is its ability to host numerous value-added applications simultaneously. The integration of electronic payments, whether initiated in-store, online, or from a mobile device, coupled with extensive consumer loyalty (e.g., rewards and purchase incentives) can result in a significant competitive advantage. For every business it supports, OLS provides strategic benefits and improved customer satisfaction, along with measurable financial and operational improvements.
In August 2012 OLS became a wholly-owned subsidiary of InComm, the world leader in prepaid card and related transaction processing technologies. While OLS continues to operate autonomously in the payment transaction market, it can leverage the experience and resources of InComm, and other InComm subsidiaries, as needed.
On-Line Strategies’ overall vision and desire is to process financial and related value-added transactions for every company that lacks the means or the desire to do so for themselves.specialized and costly transaction processing systems. Architected from the ground up by some of the industry’s most seasoned and respected “founding fathers” using financial software development best practices and the latest technologies, OLS.Payments manages from a few to all of the following capabilities:visions. Then we endeavor to understand existing issues, processing inefficiencies, or bottlenecks you may be experiencing, along with their consequences and overall organizational impacts. From there we work together to prioritize technology alternatives that make sound business, financial and operational sense. Should we mutually decide to do business, OLS will develop an in-house license or hosted-system arrangement and ongoing services structure that best suits your organization’s visions and business model.
Our mission is to design, architect, sell, maintain and host the leading switching platform and applications necessary to cause significant and measurable financial and operational improvement for our customers, while ensuring competitive advantage through superior service and shopping convenience for our customers' customers:
Mr. Richards founded On-Line Strategies in early 1996 to, in his words, “provide better and more honest production support for online transaction processing customers. When OLS was born, hardware companies were buying software companies and the resultant focus was on selling computers to new customers, instead of supporting and strategically helping the existing base. Our mission was to change all that – and we have – growing rapidly and consistently ever since.”
Formerly a VP with Shared Financial and S2 Systems for over 12 years, Mr. Richards led both companies’ technical and professional services infrastructures, providing support and guidance to many of the world’s largest banks, retailers, healthcare organizations and financial services providers.
